The successes of athletes from the Nightingale region were noted at the all-Russian level for their results at the international Golden Glove tournament. It took place in Serbia. The national team included two boxers from the Kursk region.
The regional administration reported that after the completion of the competition, Governor Roman Starovoyt received a letter from the Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation Tatyana Kiriyenko. She addressed the head of the Kursk region with congratulations on the successful performance of Kursk athletes as part of the Russian national team at the international tournament.
– Based on the results of the fights, Vladimir Orekhov became the best in the 86 kg category and won gold. Mikhail Usov, who competed in the 80 kg weight category, climbed to the third step of the podium and received a bronze medal, they said in the House of Soviets about the achievements of the Kursk athletes.
The overall result of the Russian team is 12 medals, including 7 gold. Boxers from Russia took first place in the team event.
