The strongest athletes from 59 regions of the country fought for the titles of the best.
The Russian Boxing Championship among juniors was held at the Nadezhda Sports Palace. During the seven competitive days, the best athletes were determined who will represent our country at the European Youth Championship.
— This year, 267 people from 59 regions of the Russian Federation came to Serpukhov. Prize-winners of the world championships and many famous athletes performed here,” said Vladimir Markov, technical delegate of the Russian Boxing Federation.
During the week, athletes fought for the title of the best in uncompromising men’s sports. And the audience experienced an incredible flurry of emotions.
The first place in the team event was taken by representatives of Dagestan, the second place was taken by Moscow athletes, the bronze went to boxers from St. Petersburg. The head of the Serpukhov city district presented awards to the winners and prize-winners
– The guys showed their best qualities – courage and a huge will to win. A 19-22 team has been decided, which is traditionally considered experimental because of the age group, because it moves to the elite. We will not reveal all our ideas, but we plan to prepare this team according to a completely different plan. And of course, we will report to all the fans. Of course, one feels tired and does not leave an incredible sense of celebration, – said Tatyana Kiriyenko.
Ramazan Dadaev from Vladimir was recognized as the best athlete of the competition, Cheerav Ashalaev received the prize for technical and tactical skills, and the Muscovite Nikita Rustenko received the “For the Will to Win” award. The prize fund of the tournament amounted to more than 18 million rubles. The boxers received 500,000 rubles for the first place, 250,000 rubles for the silver medalists, and 125,000 rubles for the third place.
As a memento of the fights, the winners got not only cups, but also excellent sponsorship from the Russian Boxing Federation,” Sergey Nikitenko commented.
The best athletes will perform as part of the Russian team in Baku. The tournament will take place in November.
