The Russian Arm Wrestling Championship started in Orel, which brought together about 900 athletes from 50 regions of the country. According to the regional Department of Physical Culture and Sports, this is a record number of participants in the entire history of the competition.
The tournament participants are in the age category from 14 to 23 years. The Oryol region is worthily represented by 13 of the strongest armwrestlers.
The opening ceremony of the competition was graced by the presence of the acting. Member of the Government of the Oryol Region, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Oryol Region Alexey Berestov, President of the FAR (Russian Armwrestling Federation) Alexander Filimonov, as well as Vice-President of the FAR Dzhemal Kukutidze.
As part of the opening of the tournament, Alexey Berestov awarded the best athletes with diplomas based on the results of sporting achievements in 2023. It is reported that the competition will be held until March 15 in the congress hall of TMK GRINN.
