FC Rostov defender Maxim Osipenko has left the Russian national football team. As the RFU reported on October 13, team doctors examined the player after the game with the Cameroon national team and determined a high risk of injury due to recent damage to the calf muscle.

Maxim will not be able to play in the match against the Kenyan national team. The footballer will return to Rostov, where he will undergo a more in-depth examination. The club’s doctors will have to determine the player’s recovery program.

The 29-year-old football player suffered a serious leg injury on August 8 during a game against Ural. After that, he was in treatment for more than a month. And only in mid-September he entered the field.

Osipenko has been playing for FC Rostov since 2020. He was even the team captain in 2021. His contract with the Don club expires in 2024.
