Rospotrebnadzor warned Russians about the spread of measles due to the arrival of people from neighboring countries in the country, writes RBC.
Cases of visiting a doctor due to measles were recorded by Rospotrebnadzor in the Moscow, Leningrad, Novosibirsk, Samara regions, Krasnodar, Altai Territories and a number of other regions. The department said that anti-epidemic measures are being promptly carried out there – they identify the circle of contact persons, vaccinate the population.
Russia’s Chief Sanitary Doctor Anna Popova signed a resolution “On carrying out clean-up immunization against measles”, which provides for the immunization of Russians and labor migrants who have not been vaccinated against measles and who have not had measles before, as well as those who have no information about previously vaccinated against this disease.
The reason for the increase in the number of cases in the department was the current situation with the arrival in the Russian regions of unvaccinated people from neighboring countries and the infection of Russian citizens who were not vaccinated and did not have measles before.
The agency also reports that the press service of the Moscow Department of Health explained that in the capital, vaccination against measles can be done in city clinics.
Infectious disease doctor Valery Zavoykin noted that children should receive routine vaccinations, and adults who do not know if they have immunity to this disease can donate blood for antibodies. “If there are no antibodies, you need to get vaccinated,” he said.
