In Veliky Novgorod, on the basis of the sports complex “Sport-Industry”, the swimming championship of the North-Western District of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation was held. 81 employees and servicemen from all over the world came to the Novgorod region to compete for the title of “best swimmer”. For two days, the athletes demonstrated their physical fitness and skills.
Colonel Ruslan Mirokhin, Head of Physical Training and Sports of the North-Western District of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, came to the opening ceremony. The head of the department of the Russian Guard in the Novgorod region, police colonel Sergei Isakov, noted that sports training is an important part of the successful completion of service and combat missions.
On the first day of the championship, the participants showed the best results in the 100-meter freestyle and 50-meter breaststroke, the press service of the Russian Guard Administration for the Novgorod Region reported.
Following the results of several days of competition, the first place was won by an employee of the SOBR of the Rosgvardia department for the Pskov region. In the team event, the “gold” was taken by representatives of the St. Petersburg administration, and the second place was taken by the team of the Novgorod National Guard.
