The results of the 10th season of the Moscow Olympiad “Museums. Parks. Estates”, which has been held since September 2022 at 229 venues in the capital. 55 thousand schoolchildren became the winners of the Olympiad, more than 14 thousand received diplomas of winners.

According to the organizers of the competition, participation in the Olympiad – at its start – was taken by almost 170 thousand students of grades 1 to 11, as well as pupils of preschool educational institutions. The guys, completing tasks, visited museums, parks and estates in Moscow and, having carefully studied the exposition, answered questions. For example, they had to decipher a word written in script, unravel the meaning of a pictogram, and find a non-existent room in the Kuskovo estate.

As the coordinator of the Olympiad Maria Wojcik noted, some schoolchildren have been participating in the competition for several years in a row. And after graduation, they do not lose touch with the Olympiad, but they themselves become the authors of questions and the organizers of the competition.

– In the first year, 10 years ago, the Olympiad was held at 65 sites, and the participants were just over 15 thousand people, – said Maria Wojcik. – Of course, over time, the Olympiad changes: every year more museums, parks and estates participate in it, innovations appear. Now it is held at 229 venues. This year, participants have the opportunity to answer questions through a mobile application. Now you can not print out the forms, but take the Olympiad right on your phone.

By the way, despite the fact that the Olympiad has officially ended and its results have been summed up, its winners will have one more chance to prove themselves: in May, the final game-walk will take place, in which schoolchildren, together with teachers and parents, will build routes through the historical center of the capital, answer to questions related to monuments, historical sites, architectural objects and other sights of the capital.
