The final regional games of the championship of the school basketball league “IES-BASKET” took place in the Sports Palace “Nord”. Teams of girls fought for the title of the best school basketball teams – “Girls” of school No. 1 and “Polar Star” of school No. 5, boys’ teams – “Polar Owls” of school No. 1 and “Olympus” of school No. 3. The chairman of the board of the school basketball league “IES-BASKET”, Olympic champion Svetlana Antipova, informs the portal of state bodies of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

“This is the third time I have come here and I am very glad that I managed to visit Naryan-Mar and these wonderful competitions again,” said Svetlana Antipova, Chairman of the Board of the IES-BASKET SBL, Olympic champion. – What the girls showed today – this fire in their eyes, how they fought – this is what energizes and leaves a pleasant impression. We are very grateful that the Nenets Autonomous Okrug has been with us for more than ten years. Thank you for loving this wonderful game, for giving children the opportunity to play in our project. Movement is life! – she said.

In the fight for the first place among the girls’ teams, the Polar Star team of school No. 5 won, the final score of the meeting was 44:40. The second place was taken by the team “Girls” of school No. 1, the team “Olimp” of school No. 3 took the bronze. Among the boys, the team “Polar Owls” of school No. 1 won with a big advantage, the final score of the meeting was 69:29. The second place went to the team “Olympus” of school No. 3, the third – to the team “Four” of school No. 4.

The best players in the final games were Dmitry Kanyukov, a student of school No. 1 and Yulia Bobrova, a student of school No. 5.
