The Istra City Court sentenced an employee of a sports equipment rental shop who recklessly allowed a 15-year-old girl to steer a heavy snow and swamp-going vehicle. The car overturned and the inexperienced driver was injured.
As MK learned, the incident occurred in June last year in the Istra urban district. A local entrepreneur organized rides on motorized vehicles, renting 5 pieces of equipment, including an all-terrain vehicle. He hired an employee to give out cars to everyone. At the same time, the businessman did not bother to instruct his subordinate – for example, he did not know that those wishing to ride should be asked their age. Therefore, when a young client wanted to rent an all-terrain vehicle, the rental company calmly complied with her request. The trip almost ended in tragedy. In the forest, the unit overturned, the girl suffered a shoulder injury and a metatarsal bone fracture.
A criminal case was initiated under Article 238 of the Criminal Code – “provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.” The business organizer was released from liability due to the reconciliation of the parties, but the rental company itself was sentenced to a fine of 50 thousand rubles. He will pay another 200 thousand rubles as compensation for moral damage.
