Bride Alina, whose wedding is scheduled for February, spoke out unambiguously against oaths of allegiance to the Russian anthem: “I’m not saying that I’m not a patriot. Why just mix things up? I don’t plan to get married multiple times. For me, this is a very important ritual. Some innovations will definitely overshadow it for me. If something like this is introduced before the wedding date, I will cancel the wedding and leave with the groom to register in another city, where the Mendelssohn March is still being played – and that’s it.
