The regions are ready to complete the collection of signatures ahead of schedule in support of the nomination of Vladimir Putin as a candidate for the presidential election. For example, in Crimea and Tatarstan they promise to do this before the end of the year. Governors take an active part in the campaign, campaigning in support of the president by personal example. It is unlikely that the collectors, which include not only the Popular Front, United Russia and the election headquarters, but also the A Just Russia – For Truth party, will have difficulty collecting 300 thousand autographs before January 31. In addition, Mr. Putin already has a list of trusted persons, which includes 346 people. The press secretary of Alexander Suvorov’s headquarters promises that it can grow to 600 personnel.

In Crimea and Sevastopol, they plan to collect the required number of signatures in support of Vladimir Putin’s nomination before the New Year. Kommersant was informed about this in the republican branch of United Russia (ER). They did not specify what “quota” was on the peninsula, but added that the collection of signatures was proceeding smoothly. Points where citizens can leave autographs are installed in all major shopping centers in Crimea.

A similar pace was achieved in Tatarstan. “Most likely, before the New Year, all the necessary quantities will definitely be collected. On January 7–8, we are ready to go to submit these signatures to the central election headquarters,” Marat Samigullin, head of the executive committee of the republican branch of United Russia, told Kommersant. United Russia did not specify what level was set, but added that collection points are open in all major cities and regions, mainly in shopping centers. “People are very active without any call,” stated Mr. Samigullin.

Let us remind you that the collection of signatures in support of the nomination of the current Russian President Vladimir Putin for a new term started on December 23. The head of state became the first self-nominated person to begin this process. In addition, from Thursday, candidates nominated by non-parliamentary parties can begin collecting signatures: Boris Nadezhdin, who comes from the Civil Initiative, and Andrei Bogdanov (RPSS). On December 28, the CEC registered their authorized representatives and allowed them to open election accounts. Let us remind you that candidates from parliamentary parties are exempt from collecting signatures, and for all other nominees the bar is set at 100 thousand autographs.

The quota for collecting signatures in support of Vladimir Putin, which falls on each subject, depends on its size. So, in Kamchatka this is 2 thousand signatures. One collector can collect no more than 40 signatures certified by a notary, the regional election headquarters explained to Kommersant. In the Irkutsk region, as of Thursday, 12.3 thousand people had already signed in support of Vladimir Putin’s nomination. In the Yaroslavl region, says a Kommersant source close to the party, the bar is set at the level of 7 thousand, which “does not present any difficulties for the organizers.” In Primorye it is planned to collect at least 7.5 thousand signatures.

According to information from the first deputy chairman of the government of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Marat Mirkhaidarov, the region became the first in Russia to open a headquarters to support Vladimir Putin, and a local resident became the first Russian to sign for the nomination of the head of state for a new term. In Chukotka, after complaints about the inability to support the current head of state, collection points were opened in all municipalities. Previously, collectors worked only at two sites in Anadyr, and many residents were outraged by this.

Regional heads actively joined the campaign. For example, on Thursday, the governor of the Magadan region, Sergei Nosov, was caught on video signing an autograph at the exit of one of the shopping centers. He did not comment on his decision, simply smiling at the camera. The head of the Perm region, Dmitry Makhonin, was found in a similar place. He shook hands with the collector, and in the caption to the video he reminded that there are 19 collection points in the region, which will work including holidays. Rostislav Goldstein (Jewish Autonomous Region), Aisen Nikolaev (Yakutia), Igor Kobzev (Irkutsk region), Vadim Shumkov (Kurgan region), Alexey Teksler (Chelyabinsk region), Alexander Brechalov (Udmurtia), Igor Artamonov ( Lipetsk region), Vitaly Khotsenko (Omsk region), Andrey Bocharov (Volgograd region).

The heads of legislative assemblies, members of regional governments, senators, as well as many other large and not so large officials did not pass by. Representatives of public and national organizations have already joined the campaign. For example, in the Irkutsk region, signatures in support of Vladimir Putin were signed by representatives of national cultural centers: the Lithuanian “Shvituris” and the Chuvash “Yultash”, the Center of Korean Culture, the Polish cultural autonomy “Ognivo”, the Uzbek national-cultural center “Our Fatherland” and others.

Meanwhile, as the Central Election Commission reported, the first list of Vladimir Putin’s proxies also became known. So far there are 346 people on it, but, as the press secretary of his headquarters, Alexandra Suvorova, said, later it could approach the figure of 600. Among those already on the list, there are many people well known to most Russians. These are director Nikita Mikhalkov, singers Yaroslav Dronov, better known as Shaman, and Alexey Poddubny (Django), conductor Yuri Bashmet, dancer Nikolai Tsiskaridze, as well as actors Vladimir Mashkov and Sergei Bezrukov. On behalf of the scientific community, Vladimir Putin will be represented by the rectors of leading universities: Viktor Blazheev (MSAL), Alexey Komissarov (RANEPA), Nikolay Kropachev (St. Petersburg State University) and Viktor Sadovnichy (M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University). Also on the list of trusted persons are doctors Leo Bockeria and Leonid Roshal, and among the media representatives are the editor-in-chief of Moskovsky Komsomolets Pavel Gusev and the editor-in-chief of the Russia Today TV channel Margarita Simonyan. The athletes will be represented by the head coach of the Russian rhythmic gymnastics team Irina Viner, skier Elena Vyalbe, figure skaters Tatyana Navka and Evgeni Plushenko. The list also included representatives of business associations Alexander Shokhin (RSPP), Alexey Repik (Business Russia) and Alexander Kalinin (Opora Rossii). Also, large businesses are represented in the list by the general director of the Tractor Plants concern Andrei Vodopyanov, and IT entrepreneur Igor Ashmanov. Farmer Oleg Sirota was also included in the list of the president’s confidants.

“A Just Russia” joined the collection of signatures in support of Putin’s nomination

The party “A Just Russia – For Truth” has begun collecting signatures in support of Vladimir Putin’s candidacy in the presidential elections. Let us remember that they decided to abandon their own candidate and campaign for the current head of the Right Russia at the May congress.

The first street stands of Spravorossya were placed in the capital’s malls on Smolenskaya Square and Zemlyanoy Val. The organizers motivated the choice of location due to high traffic during the New Year’s period. However, party members do not set specific goals for themselves. “No, no KPI, nothing like that,” State Duma deputy Dmitry Gusev, who joined the collectors, assured Kommersant.

The process is taking place in “full coordination with the headquarters,” the parliamentarian added: “I did not encounter any resistance, I myself was at the central headquarters of the Popular Front, we talked in detail about media support and organizational work.” In a similar way, interaction is being built in the regions: for example, the Sverdlovsk branch of United Russia told Kommersant-Ural that they intend to sign a cooperation agreement with SRZP on December 29.

The Right Russia party intends to place signature collection points in all regions; the work will be organized by deputies. “I signed up for Kuban myself,” said Dmitry Gusev. “We agreed on interaction with the regional leadership, our other deputies will do the same in their regions.” In less than half an hour of work of the collectors in the Moscow shopping center, according to the calculations of a Kommersant correspondent, more than ten people left their signatures and passport data. Citizens refrained from commenting to the press, but they were more willing to talk to parliamentarians. “Everyone is talking about victory (in the Northern Military District.— “Kommersant”),” Mr. Gusev recounted. “The image of the president and the image of victory are inextricably linked.” The Socialist-Revolutionaries also did not encounter any misunderstanding from their own voters, the deputy assured: “On the contrary! Everyone understands that for these three months we need to put aside any political games, do the main thing and then get on with the elections.”
