The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported a loss of contact with staff at Al-Amal Hospital in the town of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip. Communications and the Internet have not worked in Khan Yunis for 72 hours.
“Contact with the Red Crescent team at Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis was lost due to a VHF wireless communication failure,” the Red Crescent said in a post on social media.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is conducting an operation in the west of Khan Yunis, where the Al-Amal hospital is located, “to eliminate terrorist infrastructure.” The Israeli military reported strikes on 40 militant targets, including posts, underground tunnels, and fighting in the area.
On March 15, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported damage to the Al-Amal hospital in the city of Khan Yunis as a result of shelling. At least 364 health workers have died in the Gaza Strip since October, according to PRCS.
