The Simonovsky District Court sentenced the founder of the New Stream group, Dmitry Mazurov, to 10 years in a maximum security colony for fraud related to loans for the modernization of the Antipinsky oil refinery.

Also, a man who was once on the Forbes list of the richest businessmen in Russia was found guilty of organizing an attack on escort model Yulia Milshtein, whom they met back in 2009.

According to investigators, the attack on Milshtein was carried out in 2015 at the entrance where the escort lived, with the aim of scaring her. Allegedly, Mazurov was afraid that meeting her would compromise him. His acquaintance Alexander Kurilov, on Mazurov’s orders, attacked the girl with a knife. In addition, Kurilov was accused of illegally purchasing and storing ammunition, as well as setting fire to two cars of family members of a former security officer of the New Stream company. He received 8 years in prison. In court, the accused behaved calmly; they listened to Themis’ decision absolutely calmly.

The court ordered Mazurov to compensate Sberbank, which issued the loans, for damages in the amount of more than 21 billion rubles. The businessman is obliged to pay more than 1.7 billion rubles to the Antipinsky Oil Refinery. And Mazurov and Kurilov are obliged to pay 500 thousand rubles each to the girl who suffered from the attack.
