The rabbit is not easy: how not to piss off a new character on New Year’s Eve

A little more than three weeks are left before the arrival of the New Year: this pre-holiday time is usually rich in advice on what to meet him in, what to put on the table, what rituals on the most magical night of the year will help attract health, wealth and happiness. But residents of eastern countries, according to the calendar of which the year of the Black Water Rabbit will come only at the end of January, prefer to remind their loved ones living in the West that it is strictly forbidden on New Year’s Eve. And let the Western world meet the Rabbit, but in the East they know for sure: until January 21, 2023, the Black Water Tiger is still with us. And to anger him at parting means to enter the year of the Rabbit with a “tiger ticket” – with a negative charge. And the Tiger Rabbit respects, listening to his opinion when passing the annual baton.

The main thing and the main thing is that on New Year’s Eve, according to the Euro-style, one cannot not only be greedy, but even “save wisely”. The tiger is an animal of a wide soul; it loves to leave beautifully and on a grand scale. Therefore, see him off, meeting the Rabbit, in new, not yet worn clothes. Set the table based on your budget, but with all your heart, otherwise the Tiger, who does not tolerate pettiness, will finally deprive you of prosperity.

The menu will have to please both the departing Tiger and the Rabbit hurrying towards us, which is not so simple: the first is a predator, the second is a herbivore. But there is one caveat: in the eastern horoscope, the Rabbit and the Cat are one and the same, and the Cat is a mini-version of the Tiger. Therefore, a consensus is not only possible, but even extensive: everything is appropriate on the New Year’s table, except, in fact, rabbit dishes. Even the owners of both years – the outgoing and the coming – equally do not like drunks and are able to punish them with failures. Therefore, at a party dedicated to seeing off the Tiger and meeting the Rabbit, it is better to serve only light alcohol.

But in New Year’s outfits, there are even more restrictions than on the menu. No fur is allowed, including artificial, and especially fox and “ecomeh” imitating it. The rabbit is afraid of the fox, and the Tiger despises, so the lady in the fox boa runs the risk of angering both. Despite Western fashion, which once again proclaimed animal prints (animal colors) the trend of the winter season, they are contraindicated on New Year’s Eve. No leopard prints, “snake skins”, and even more so tiger skins. The rabbit welcomes its colors – black and water (blue, cyan, turquoise), the Tiger also does not mind, as it prefers all natural colors found in wildlife – except for the colorings of other animals and its own. Thus, in order to please both, to categorically exclude from the color scheme of both outfits and New Year’s interior decoration, all the so-called “acid” colors follow – unnaturally bright yellow, green, orange and pink.

For those who are preparing for important achievements and changes in the Year of the Rabbit, it is better to wear red or pink on New Year’s Eve. If you appreciate the current situation and prefer stability, wear blue, cyan and emerald. In the East, it is unequivocally recommended to refrain from white – this is the color of death. Black as a festive one is quite acceptable if you complement it with gilded details – jewelry, accessories, watches – anything, but there must be a bright spot in the image, otherwise the Tiger simply will not notice that you are seeing him off.

Regarding signs, there are those in which our ancestors equally believed in both the East and the West. On the eve of New Year’s Eve and in its process, it is impossible to: lend money (to poverty), quarrel with someone (to enmity, war and loss), drive away street animals that accidentally wandered towards you (to failure), get sick and mope (to health problems ), to be alone (to losses among loved ones), to sleep (to missed opportunities) and to be hungry (to deprivation). In no case should you cry at the time of the change of years and take someone else’s, as well as make wishes, in the formulation of which not only your resource is involved. For example, “for the boss to pay me more” is not a correct desire, since it applies not only to you, but also to the boss. According to the same principle, the wording “so that the husband loves”, “so that the children study well”, etc. is incorrect. You can only wish your loved ones health and success in all matters, and regarding your desires, rely only on yourself: “so that my work is high appreciated and brought me big dividends. “So that my health allows me to enjoy life, to be in demand and loved.” “So that my finances allow me to travel, relax and acquire everything I want.”

And the most important New Year’s commandment of both Eastern astrologers and just wise men is not to spoil your karma. And it is irrevocably spoiled: wishing someone harm, non-repayment of debts, unpaid work, a service for which you did not thank, and using other people for your own selfish purposes. Do not do this – and you will be equally protected with both the Tiger and the Rabbit.
