The quality of life rating has increased over several years in 72% of Russian regions

Young Russians named “family” and “love” as the main values

The management of the government strategic agency shared the optimistic results of the study of public opinion. 80% of the agency’s young respondents identified “family” and “love” as their priorities and values. The same number of respondents considered that the optimal age for marriage is 25 years.

It is known about the surveys that they were conducted in the category from 18 to 45 years (according to the new WHO methodology, a person’s youth lasts up to 44 years). The agency’s general director, Svetlana Chupsheva, shared the results of the study, as well as other social indicators of her own.

The head of the research center said that over the past 5 years the number of large families in Russia has grown by almost 27%. Now there are almost 2.3 million such families. By the way, 37% of young women admitted that they dream of having many children.

There are no longer discrepancies between regions with the very concept of having many children. According to a recent presidential decree, these are families with three or more children. Women who have given birth to and raised 10 or more children are awarded the highest state title “Mother Heroine”.

In addition, the agency’s general director shared the results of a study of the quality of life in Russia, according to which in 72% of regions this rating has positive dynamics. The study took into account “factors important to the individual and family.”

“Issues related to housing, employment, medicine, safety, ecology, opportunities for self-realization,” Chupsheva specified the details of the surveys, adding that in total there are 141 criteria for assessing the quality of life.

“The study is hardly scientifically representative; it does not reflect statistics, but rather the prevailing social trend,” says Master of Social Sociology Pavel Velyaminov. – But we can look into the quality of life in more detail. This is a multi-composite study based not only on conducting surveys and comparing their results, including by year. But also on identifying certain social profiles and proportions.

For example, the world leaders in quality of life include Norway, Canada and Japan. But not by any one indicator, but by a combination of values. Norway is ahead in terms of income, access to education and healthcare, and environmental quality. Canada: stable economy, education and health care, opportunities for self-realization. Japan: longevity, safety, access to medicine and education. That is, if I, being Japanese, want the same ecology as in Norway, I will not get it. But I will still consider myself prosperous, because there are other benefits that are important to me.

In Russia, in this overall context, the well-being rating is positively influenced by accessible Internet and housing and communal services. Yes, our utility workers are criticized a lot, but one cannot help but admit that tariffs for gas, water, and heating remain among the lowest among developed countries.

As for the Internet, several indicators are assessed: speed and accessibility, availability of free Wi-Fi zones, prices for Internet services, quality of the communication network and other aspects related to access to information technology. And according to this criterion, the quality of services in Russia is higher than, for example, in France or Italy.

According to a set of criteria, our largest cities have the highest quality of life: the capital Moscow and St. Petersburg, then Kazan and Yekaterinburg.
