The Kinky Party project has stopped holding sex parties in the Russian Federation due to warnings from government agencies

The Kinky Party project, which organizes sex parties, announced the suspension of activities. According to message in the project’s Telegram channel, the decision is due to the fact that Kinky Party received a warning from Russian government agencies.

“While our events have always complied with the law and aimed to create a safe, respectful environment for free expression, we have received a warning that any events related to sex themes will not be tolerated,” Kinky Party said in a statement. It does not specify which authority issued the warning. In addition, project representatives were not made clear whether the warning was a temporary or permanent measure.

“And now we, like you, need a pause to digest this information. We will come back to you as soon as we think of alternative ways to give you an atmosphere of celebration and freedom,” said Kinky Party.

On February 17, the project planned to hold a party in Moscow in honor of its 8th anniversary. Due to caution, it has been cancelled. Kinky Party noted that the project’s events in Georgia will continue. “We hope that we will meet you in other countries,” the project noted.

The Kinky Party message talks about the cancellation of sex parties in Moscow. It is unknown whether other project events will be held in Russian cities. In addition to sex parties of various formats in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the project also organizes master classes on sexual practices. In addition, Kinky Party has its own online clothing store, where you can buy ready-made looks for sex parties and themed photo shoots. Kinky Market clothes could also be purchased offline – in total, during its history, Kinky Party organized 14 fairs in Moscow.

The Kinky Party website says that the project holds themed parties with a dress code, music and a show program. The project’s goal is to help people “explore their boundaries, fantasies and sexuality.” Kinky Party’s rules state that at their parties, “anything is possible, respecting the rules of a culture of active consent and the confidentiality of other people.”

According to information in the project’s Telegram channel, 14,828 guests attended Kinky Party events in 2023. Tickets for the project’s sex parties cost from 5 to 200 thousand rubles, for master classes – about 2-3 thousand rubles. In 2018, Kinky Party founder Taisiya Reshetnikova told RBCthat 60% of the revenue comes from sales of regular tickets, 30% from VIP category tickets worth 150 thousand rubles. Then Ms. Reshetnikova claimed that the project did not have a business plan. According to her, the project’s profit for 2017 increased by 75% compared to 2016, and at the beginning of 2018 the project earned 80% of the previous year’s total profit.
