Yarikova clarified that compulsive overeating is a consequence of stress and internal anxiety. She pointed out that the reaction to stress is active and passive, and in the first case, people are so tense that they cannot look at food, and excessive activity wakes up in them, which borders on nervousness, while in the second case people move away from the decision problems by eating them.
The expert explained that in the process of eating, the parasympathetic system is turned on, which has a calming effect on a person, as a result of which there is an association that food is peace, especially since food causes the production of the hormone of happiness.
