The Pskov marathon “Mekhuborka-2024” will gather 1,200 participants, which will take place in the regional center on Sunday, April 21. The organizer of the Pskov marathon “Mekhuborka-2024” Alexander Kuzmin announced this during a briefing at the public press center of PLN, the correspondent of “MK in Pskov” reports.

Compared to last year, the number of participants has increased significantly (a year ago, 862 athletes took to the start line), noted the studio guest.

According to Alexander Kuzmin, there are always more visitors to Pskov marathons than Pskov residents, but this time the situation is different: the Pskov region will be represented by 39% of runners, St. Petersburg – 36%, Moscow – another 10%.

In addition, participants will arrive from the Leningrad region, Novgorod and 30 other cities in Russia.

“In recent years, Pskov has become a central city in terms of running. We live by these starts. Our task is to give a competitive moment to amateurs, not just professionals. People come from other cities; once even an athlete from Yakutia came to the race. In conditions when people have plenty to choose from, they choose us – this speaks of a high level of organization,” added co-organizer Arthur Ekabson.
