The press service of the Second Western District Military Court reported the receipt of an appeal from the prosecutor’s office against the sentence of sociologist, political scientist and Soviet dissident Boris Kagarlitsky (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent and included in the list of terrorists and extremists), who on December 12, at an off-site hearing in Syktyvkar, was fined 600 thousand rubles in the case of public calls for terrorism. At the same time, the prosecution asked the court to sentence 65-year-old Kagarlitsky to 5.5 years of actual imprisonment.

In addition, the court prohibited Kagarlitsky from administering the sites for two years.

Let us remind you that the case against Kagarlitsky was opened by the FSB of the Russian Federation because of a video about the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge in 2022. After this, in July 2023, Kagarlitsky was detained and was in a pre-trial detention center until the court decided on a fine.
