The Prosecutor General’s Office will check the use of funds for the development of the IT industry

Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov instructed to check the legality of the use of budget funds allocated for the development of the information technology industry, reported on the GP website.

“Prosecutors will evaluate the completeness, legality and timeliness of financing measures to ensure the accelerated development of the information technology industry, the validity of obtaining and spending subsidies and grants for legal entities,” the report says.

The audit will also analyze the readiness for the transfer of interdepartmental electronic interaction systems into a single electronic service. Particular attention will be paid to the provision of state support measures aimed at the development of Russian software for the development of the production of high-tech industrial products.

The announcement of the suspension of grants came four days after the arrest of Deputy Minister of Digital Development Maxim Parshin. At the Ministry of Digital Development, he participated, among other things, in coordinating the activities of the department on benefits for IT companies and grant support. On July 13, the Basmanny Court of Moscow placed Parshin under house arrest until September 12. The official became a defendant in a criminal case on taking a bribe on an especially large scale. He is involved in the same case with the general director of BFT-Holding Alexander Monosov.
