Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Security and Anti-Corruption Project, asked the Prosecutor General’s Office to check if Valery Meladze finances the Armed Forces of Ukraine, RT reports. The appeal addressed to Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov says that the singer “repeatedly criticized” the conduct of the military operation in Ukraine.

The author of the appeal wrote that now Valery Meladze is freely touring abroad. “Many citizens have a question whether the money they earn at corporate parties in Moscow and Dubai is going to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Vitaly Borodin wrote, urging the Prosecutor General’s Office to conduct an appropriate check.

Previously on social media spread video in which the time of the New Year’s concert in Dubai, Valery Meladze, allegedly said: “Glory to the heroes.” The singer’s phrase was not captured on video. “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to heroes!” is considered a greeting used by Ukrainian nationalists.

After the video was published, Federation Council member Elena Afanasyeva suggested deprive the singer, and State Duma deputy Andrey Lugovoi asked Attorney General to evaluate the actions of the singer.

At the end of December, two concerts of Valery Meladze were canceled in Novosibirsk, in January canceled his performance in Irkutsk. In late March became known about the cancellation of concerts in Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Barnaul.
