The Latvian and Dutch affiliates of TV Rain (recognized as a foreign agent) SIA TV Rain and TVR Studios BV have been declared undesirable in Russia, according to press release Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia. Among other things, the department believes, they discredit the Russian authorities and “spread false information about a special military operation.”

The Prosecutor General’s Office notes that these organizations were created by “foreign journalist” Natalya Sindeyeva, who has Russian citizenship (recognized as a foreign agent), after “taking measures to restrict access” to the Dozhd TV channel for systematic violations of media laws. The agency indicates that Dozhd’s branches are financed by the Dutch fund Stichting 2 Oktober recognized as a foreign agent.

SIA TV Rain and TVR Studios BV, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office, “distribute materials of extremist, terrorist organizations” and foreign agents, “on a regular basis publish information materials of organizations recognized as undesirable.” The channel’s branches, according to the press release, posted video materials to which access was restricted due to violations of Russian law.
