The Prosecutor General’s Office asked the Federal Penitentiary Service to strengthen control over former prisoners

The Prosecutor General’s Office submitted a proposal to the Federal Penitentiary Service with a request to strengthen control over administrative supervision over released prisoners.

As Anton Davydov, Deputy Head of the Department for Supervision of the Legality of the Execution of Criminal Sentences of the Prosecutor General’s Office, said today at a meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation of the Federation Council, about 13 thousand violations have been recorded in this area. Colonial administrations do not always apply to the court in a timely manner with a request to establish administrative supervision over a prisoner being released. Upon release, a person is not given an order that he must contact the Federal Penitentiary Service at his place of residence. As a result, the former prisoner leaves in an unknown direction. The prosecutor’s office asked the Federal Penitentiary Service to restore order in this area.
