In the Basmanny Court of Moscow, during the debate of the parties, the prosecutor asked to sentence journalist Alexander Nevzorov (recognized as a foreign agent) in absentia to nine years in prison in the case of discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation (clause “d” part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The prosecution also asked to ban Mr. Nevzorov from administering websites and other resources for four years. Alexander Nevzorov left Russia in March.
According to RIA Novosti, the accused and his lawyer are not present at the debate. The interests of Alexander Nevzorov are represented in court by a designated defender.
