The bill on raising the conscription age for those who have received Russian citizenship will be finalized. This was announced by one of the authors of the project, State Duma deputy Mikhail Sheremet (United Russia).
He did not specify when the new version of the document would be presented. “The bill has already been withdrawn and will be finalized taking into account all legal aspects and the opinions of colleagues,” Mr. Sheremet told RIA Novosti.
This week to the State Duma contributed a bill proposing an increase in the draft age to 50 years for men who have received Russian citizenship. In addition to Mikhail Sheremet, the authors were deputies Alexey Zhuravlev (LDPR) and Alexander Borodai (United Russia). Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin stated, that such initiatives need to be “comprehensively discussed” before introducing them into the “public plane.” On the same day, Messrs. Borodai and Sheremet recalled their signatures on the draft law.
