Almost 150,000 college students this year became participants in the federal program “professionalism”, which started in 70 secondary vocational educational institutions in 42 regions of the country.
Students will receive theoretical knowledge while doing internships at specialized enterprises. As Tatyana Golikova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation for Social Policy, noted, professionalism implies the possibility of flexible changes in the curriculum to the needs of a particular industry and a particular enterprise where a young person will subsequently work.
So far, training under the “professionalism” program is being carried out in eight areas: railway, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, nuclear and light industries, metallurgy, agriculture and engineering. But next year, they plan to add two more areas to it: training in small and medium-sized businesses.
