Purchases and deliveries of the flu vaccine have actually been made to all Russian regions. This was announced to journalists during a working trip to Udmurtia by the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko.
“So far, we see that tension over the flu is not growing, but, according to the forecasts of WHO, the Ministry of Health, and Rospotrebnadzor, a high increase in the incidence of influenza is possible this season,” said Mr. Murashko (quoted by RIA Novosti). To do this, in fact, a flu vaccine has been purchased and delivered to all regions today, the minister said, noting that a children’s vaccine is also available.
At the end of August, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova signed a document that prescribes to strengthen preventive measures against influenza, in particular, to vaccinate at least 60% of the population against it.
While the highest incidence of influenza in 2022 was registered in January-February, it reached 5477 cases. In the period from 13 to 19 June in Russia, the number of cases of influenza amounted to 2408 people.
