The Presidential Grants Fund supported a project to promote patriotic values for children with Down syndrome. The total amount of the project is 2.5 million rubles, the grant amount will be 1.8 million rubles. “The project provides for the preparation and holding by a group of school-age children, adolescents and young people with Down syndrome and other mental disabilities of events aimed at honoring veterans of the Great Patriotic War and at supporting people from the regions who are currently at the forefront of the struggle of our Motherland for their interests,” reads the description of the project on the foundation’s website.
According to the authors of the project, the events will help children with Down syndrome “feel a sense of belonging to the struggle for their independence, which our country waged during the Great Patriotic War and which is being waged now.”
The organization for the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens with Down syndrome “Time for Change” is responsible for the implementation of the project. The project will be implemented in Moscow and the Moscow region. The project implementation period is from September 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024.
