The Rome prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation against the president of the Italian Football Federation, Gabriel Gravina, writes La Gazzetta with reference to sources. According to the publication, he is suspected of embezzlement and money laundering.

Dozens of politicians, athletes and other people are under investigation, La Gazzetta reports. The investigation concerns the awarding of a tender to Isg Ginko for the TV channel of the professional football league Lega Pro.

Gabriel Gravin’s lawyers deny the possible guilt of the president of the sports organization. According to them, in the future the prosecutor’s office may receive “new false accusations.”

Grabriel Gravin took over as president of the Italian Football Federation in 2018. The investigation against him is taking place as part of the anti-mafia case. It was started after a journalistic investigation into corruption among Italian politicians.
