The Ukrainian side has made progress in developing a peace plan to end hostilities, but at least a few months remain before the summit, where the document will be approved, writes Reuters.
According to the agency, citing Ukrainian and Western officials, neither Kyiv nor the West intend to invite Russia to the summit. As noted in the article, the details of the peace plan have already been discussed at a meeting in Copenhagen, which took place on June 25. The People’s Republic of China was also invited there, but local officials refused to participate, pointing out that it would be problematic to unite the countries into an appropriate coalition.
Sunday’s meeting was also attended by senior officials from Brazil, India, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Turkey.
Earlier it was reported that as part of these negotiations, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak met with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen.
