The Ministry of Internal Affairs received about 40 complaints about theft of property from residents evacuated from flooded areas of the Orenburg region, said department official Irina Volk. She noted that cases of looting are isolated and not widespread. Based on the results of the inspection, only one fact was confirmed, and a criminal case was initiated.

“Officers of the Orenburg police, while patrolling flooded areas, pay special attention to the safety of citizens’ property and the prevention of looting. As of today, the police have received about 40 reports of theft of property from residents evacuated from the disaster area. All of them have been checked.
