The servicemen of the Black Sea Fleet were also presented for military state awards, who destroyed unmanned boats that participated in the attack on the reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs. According to the Ministry of Defense, they “timely detected high-speed targets approaching the Russian ship, and at the command of the commander of the ship, Captain 3rd Rank Igor Taran, they destroyed unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at a safe distance with fire from standard weapons.”

On May 24, the ministry announced the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attempt to attack the Ivan Khurs ship. According to the ministry, Ukraine tried to attack the ship with three unmanned speedboats, but to no avail. The ship performed the tasks of “ensuring the safety of the operation of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Turkey.”
