The United States plans to increase production of 155-mm artillery shells used in Ukraine to 100,000 per month in 2025. Deputy US Secretary of Defense William LaPlante spoke about this on Friday, September 15.
A Pentagon representative clarified that the United States is currently producing 28 thousand such ammunition per month, which is double the figure six months ago.
Earlier, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Valery Zaluzhny, said that he had held a meeting with the American and British military, at which the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for weapons were discussed, and also in shells.
At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov reported in July that in the Russian Federation by the summer of 2023, more ammunition will be produced monthly than produced in the entire 2022. The volume of ammunition production is thus increased 12 times.
