North Macedonia expelled three Russian diplomats from the country

Three employees of the Russian embassy in North Macedonia were declared persona non grata without explanation. About it reported official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova.
“We regard the decision to expel our colleagues as an inappropriate desire of the leadership of this country to once again demonstrate to their Western guardians their importance in the fight against the imaginary “Russian threat.” The irresponsible and hostile attack of the North Macedonian authorities will not go unanswered,” Zakharova said, as quoted by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman clarified that the decision to expel Russian diplomats to Skopje was made on September 12. According to her, this step “drives into a dead end” relations between countries that are already in a deep crisis. The Foreign Ministry regards the actions of the North Macedonian authorities as a worsening confrontation, Zakharova added.
In the spring, Norwegian authorities declared 15 employees of the Russian embassy in Oslo persona non grata. The Russian Foreign Ministry responded to this step by expelling 10 Norwegian diplomats from Moscow.
Also, the Russian Foreign Ministry declared the First Secretary of the US Embassy, Jeffrey Sillin, and the Second Secretary of the Embassy, David Bernstein, persona non grata, as they carried out illegal activities. The US State Department called this decision “unfounded” and said that it would not go unanswered.
