On Tuesday, the head of the central executive committee of United Russia and deputy secretary of its general council, Alexander Sidyakin, will officially receive the mandate of a State Duma deputy. It is not yet planned to provide him with any additional leadership position in the faction, committee or leadership of the Duma. Mr. Sidyakin will continue to work as the head of the executive committee (but now on a free basis), so he does not need additional organizational burden, Kommersant’s sources explain. At the same time, the presidential administration hopes that his very appearance in the Duma will strengthen the control of the party’s central apparatus over the faction.
