Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas plans to visit Russia, RIA Novosti reports.
This was announced by Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki. According to him, the Palestinian leader expects to come to the Russian Federation before the end of the year.
He noted that the visit is already at the preparation stage. He did not provide any other details. At the same time, Riyad al-Maliki said that he was soon going to arrive in Russia and hold negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Previously, this meeting was scheduled for August, but it was postponed due to adjustments in the work schedule of the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Many meetings are expected between Russian and Palestinian officials. However, a visit is also being prepared… I think we will agree on a date that will be convenient for both parties. In my opinion, we will succeed,” said Riyad al-Maliki.
