The dates of the second summit, the economic and humanitarian forum “Russia-Africa” ​​in St. Petersburg have been changed to July 27-28, should from the information on the forum website. Previously, the event was planned for July 26-29.

At the end of March, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the plenary session of the international parliamentary conference “Russia – Africa in a multipolar world”. The event became a preparation for the second Russia-Africa summit. The forum is organized by the Foundation “Roscongress”.

Putin said that the first Russia-Africa summit, which took place in Sochi in 2019, allowed Russia to revive ties with the states of the continent. Moscow “has always given and will continue to give priority to cooperation with African states,” the president said, calling it one of the invariable priorities of Russian foreign policy.

Putin June 17 accepted in St. Petersburg, a mission of seven African countries, which presented a peace initiative to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. It was led by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. The meeting lasted over three hours.
