Acting Governor of the Omsk Region Vitaly Khotsenko awarded the insignia “For Service to the Omsk Region” to 81-year-old resident of the village of Chistoozerye Nadezhda Kuchumova. She was awarded the title of honorary resident of the region for important achievements in public activities and active citizenship, according to the regional government website.
“Nadezhda Arkhipovna worked as a milkmaid all her life, her work experience on the farm is almost 47 years. She doesn’t sit idle to this day: she mastered the computer, goes to the forest to pick mushrooms and berries, visits friends and relatives in neighboring villages,” they say in the message.
In April, the village of Chistoozerye suffered as a result of a natural fire. Then 15 buildings burned down, one person was injured. Only two houses survived, one of them was Nadezhda Kuchumova’s. The woman refused to leave the village where she was born and lived all her life. The acting governor, who arrived at the scene of the fire, together with Nadezhda Kuchumova, drove around the burned streets in a homemade car that her son had assembled for her.
