A snow cyclone that has been raging for a week in the north of the Khabarovsk Territory does not allow Khabarovsk Airlines to resume flights to the most remote Okhotsk region in the region. This was reported by Prime with reference to the carrier. A snow storm has been observed in the Okhotsk region since December 8, in the neighboring Ayano-Maisky region – since December 9. In addition to snowfall and blizzards, wind gusts of up to 29 m/s are observed. The bad weather was expected to subside by Monday, December 11, but the situation remains unchanged.
According to the airline, 18 flights have already been delayed, including 14 on the Khabarovsk-Okhotsk line, and four more on the Khabarovsk-Ayan line. As of today, 383 passengers are awaiting departure. Those in need are accommodated in hotels and provided with food.
On Thursday, clear weather is expected in Okhotsk and Ayan, but strong side winds are forecast, so the likelihood of resumption of flights is not high. On online scoreboard airport named after Nevelskoy (Khabarovsk) there was a message about the delay of flight NI 401 to Okhotsk until 9:10 (2:10 Moscow time) on December 14.
