She actually struggles to understand it. This generation gap is also the subject of this beautifully titled documentary Life ahead of us. Interesting, but a little too wise in its form, it is taken from a report by Ariane Chemin du World published in 2020. These fifty-two minutes therefore tell the odyssey of thousands of Berbers – between 80,000 and 120,000 – who left their arid countryside in Morocco in the 1960s and 1970s to work in the mines of the north and from the east of France.
