Russian experts recommend eating no more than 50 grams of sweets a day to avoid this disorder. If the consumption of sweets exceeds this rate by more than twice, then this can lead to a carbohydrate hangover, which can manifest itself after a week or months.
Symptoms of a carbohydrate hangover may include irritability, headaches, or low energy after a long break between eating sweets or other desserts. If a person does not eat sweets for a long time, his mood may begin to deteriorate, aggression, irritability or depression may appear. Headache, fatigue, and hand tremors may also occur. However, if a person eats a candy, the symptoms usually go away after an hour and a half.
Trying to improve mood and performance with sweets can harm the body, especially the liver. Therefore, it is important to monitor the amount of sweets consumed and not to abuse them.
