The number of people in orbit around the Earth at a time has reached a historical record

After the launch of the Chinese spacecraft Shenzhou-16, the number of people simultaneously in orbit reached 17, which was a record for the entire period of space exploration.
11 cosmonauts and astronauts are on the International Space Station. Among them are the crews of the Russian spacecraft Soyuz MS-23, the American Crew Dragon and the private mission of Axiom Space AX-2. There are three Russians aboard the ISS – Sergey Prokopyev, Dmitry Petelin and Andrey Fedyaev.
The number of taikonauts at the Tiangong orbital station has reached 6, three of them arrived on May 30 on the Shenzhou-16 spacecraft.
The crew of the AX-2 mission plans to return to Earth on May 30.
