The number of cyber attacks on Russian enterprises in the second quarter of 2022 increased by 10 times, informs TASS with reference to Grigory Aikashev, Head of Technology Support for Cloud and Infrastructure Solutions at MegaFon.
“The number of attacks has really increased very much, by 10 times – this is confirmed by both our research and our monitoring, which analyzes both our infrastructure and network attacks on our clients,” he said.
Aikashev also added that the number of requests for various information security services has increased five times, including protection against ddos attacks, protection of network parts, web application firewall (WAF), as well as more global systems.
The largest number of attacks over the period was carried out using malicious software (software), said Alexey Pavlov, director of business development for cybersecurity services at Rostelecom-Solar. The share of such attacks increased by 7 p.p. up 32% in the second quarter of this year compared to the first quarter.
In addition, the number of incidents of a high degree of criticality has tripled, Pavlov also noted. Most of the critical incidents in April-June were related to web attacks, the share of which rose to 95% against 77% last year. “There is a significant increase in the share of incidents related to the exploitation of vulnerabilities (from 9% to 15% in the second quarter of 2022),” Pavlov said.
