The Norwegian princess is going to marry the shaman Durek: the family is at a loss

Princess Märtha Louise became engaged to Durek Varretta in June 2022 and announced her decision to step back as a member of the royal family in November. Durek was removed from the list of authors by one of the publishing houses due to pseudoscientific claims he made in his book, Hacking the Spirit.

Princess Märtha Louise is the first-born son of King Harald V. Like Britain’s Prince Harry, the Norwegian royal has found herself a “spare” in her family because her younger brother, 49-year-old Prince Haakon, will inherit the throne. The Norwegian Constitution was changed in 1990 to allow the first-born son, regardless of gender, to have priority in the line of succession. However, the law is not retroactive, so Haakon remains heir to the throne. And one day, the eldest daughter of the future king, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, will ascend to the Norwegian throne.

Last year, the princess stunned the world when she announced she would be stepping back from her royal role to pursue her relationship with Durek. The move was reminiscent of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who gave up their titles in 2020, albeit for very different reasons.
