The namesake of a three-time convicted Russian, who returned from the North Military District, gave a lecture on patriotism to children

In one of the schools in Surgut, a lecture was held for primary schoolchildren on the topic of patriotism, which was read to the children by an SVO volunteer. With reference to court materials, the publication reports that citizen Roman Tatarkin was convicted in 2017 of stealing batteries from two cars, in 2019 – again under theft charges, in 2020 there was a third conviction, and again for the theft of a car battery. It is reported that Tatarkin was sentenced to 1 year and 10 months in prison.

The same person or his full namesake spoke to elementary school students at Surgut school number 29 on October 13. The school group on the social network says that “a graduate of our school” Tatarkin “volunteered a year ago,” then was wounded and is now undergoing treatment, but “found time to meet with the 2nd and 3rd grade students. In the video posted, the man tells children about his love for his homeland. In response, one of the boys wished him to “always dodge other people’s bullets.” The teacher added a wish of her own: “And that your cartridges never run out.”

The Surgut administration neither confirmed nor denied that the same Tatarkin, who has long been known to local law enforcement officers, visited the children.

“For us, all participants of the SVO are heroes,” stated “Rise” in the administration. “And they know what patriotism really is.”

The officials added that “everything else is not worthy of discussion” and is “hints” and “misconceptions” that should be “on the conscience of those who distribute and replicate them.”
