The Murmansk region will continue to develop the region’s sports sector: in 2024, it is proposed to invest 3.5 billion rubles in it, 48 million of which will go to support sports schools, Governor Andrei Chibis said during an operational meeting.

This money will be used to purchase 80 clubs, a climbing wall, track, mountain and road bicycles and 261 pieces of sports equipment and inventory.

Let us remind you that in the Kola Arctic there are 25 sports schools and sports schools of the Olympic reserve, which prepare polar youth – about eight thousand people – for all-Russian and international competitions, including as part of national teams.

Every year, institutions are supported by both federal and regional subsidies.

Earlier, the Polar Olympics competitions started in Kirovsk. “MK in Murmansk” wrote that competitions will be held in alpine skiing and freestyle.
