September 5 is the last day of the Berlin IFA exhibition. It is attended not only by representatives of the industry and the media, but also by those who simply wish, who, by the way, make up the bulk of the visitors.

I believe that this is largely the merit of the chosen format: people have the opportunity to evaluate live electronics that have just appeared or will be on sale in the near future.

This year, the most replicated event of the exhibition was the presentation of new Honor products. The Chinese vendor introduced to the world the thinnest smartphone with a flexible display in the form of a “book” Magic V2 (the thickness of the device when folded is 9.9 mm) and a conceptual folding model with an outward display Magic V Purse. Its creators suggest carrying it in the hands or on the shoulder, like a women’s handbag.

It is curious, but I would like to draw attention to the innovations and technologies of the home appliance market. There, manufacturers also have something to surprise or, at least, make life easier for a person, allowing him to be even more lazy.

The developers of Siemens Home Appliances have built a dish recognition function into their new iQ700 oven – the user just needs to place it in the oven, then she will choose the mode and time herself. At the start, the oven recognizes 40 positions. But over time, the developers promise to expand this list.

Russell Hobbs introduced the SatisFry Air & Grill Multicooker. There was no machine learning and artificial intelligence. It took an applied engineering trick to increase the efficiency of traditional air fryers by 76%: a similar lower one was added to the usual upper stream of hot air.

At the Narwal and SwitchBot booths, IFA visitors were able to get acquainted with household washing robot vacuum cleaners, the bases of which are connected to the water supply and drain. This allows the device to automatically dispose of dirty water and take fresh water for cleaning. Another Narwal vacuum cleaner in Max mode recognizes difficult dirt and devotes more time to them.

Many companies focus on the concept of sustainable development. Environmental friendliness of devices comes to the fore. For example, over the past ten years, Hisense Europe has been able to reduce the average energy consumption of refrigerators by 7%, dishwashers by 21%, and washing machines by 36%.
