After the cancellation of the pandemic status and a decrease in demand for vaccination of citizens, the transfer of COVID-19 vaccines to private Moscow clinics became irrelevant, the press service of the capital’s health department reported. Previously RBC toldthat the Sputnik V or Sputnik Light vaccine has disappeared from the largest private clinics in Moscow.
The press service of the Moscow Department of Health said “Interfax” and RIA Novosti that contracts with private medical centers were concluded during the fight against the coronavirus epidemic in the capital. They provided for the transfer of vaccines against coronavirus infection to private medical institutions free of charge.
“However, after the cancellation of the pandemic status and, as a consequence, a decrease in the demand for vaccination among citizens, the use of the resources of private clinics for vaccinating the population became irrelevant,” the press service noted. You can get a free vaccination against COVID-19, as before, at vaccination points in city clinics and in GUM.
Over the past month, Russia has seen an almost threefold increase in the number of people infected with COVID-19. In the last week of September, 14 thousand people were infected, compared to 5 thousand at the beginning of the month. The Ministry of Health also noted an increase in incidence. The head of the department, Mikhail Murashko, however, clarified that the number of hospitalizations is not increasing.
