The Moscow court fined “Yandex” for failure to provide information to the FSB

The World Court in Moscow found the largest Internet platform guilty of repeated violation of the requirements related to the provision of data about users of the Yandex.Services service, which were required to ensure the country’s security or search for missing people. Representatives of the court told TASS that the fine would be 2 million rubles.
As specified, the actions of Yandex LLC fall under Article 13.31 of Part 4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (repeated failure by the company to comply with the requirements for its software and equipment for the implementation by government agencies of operations to search or ensure state security).
The representative of the company in court acknowledged the violations and asked the court not to impose the maximum possible fine. According to the fourth part of article 13.31 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, a fine for this can be in the amount of 2 to 6 million rubles.
