The Moscow City Election Commission recognized the elections in the capital as officially valid

The Moscow City Election Commission (MGEC) officially approved the results of the elections for the mayor of Moscow and recognized them as valid. The decision was made during a commission meeting.

According to the chairman of the IPCC, Olga Kirillova, the elections for the mayor of the capital were held in an atmosphere of high political culture. She also noted that the candidates showed the highest level of mutual respect and respect from voters.

In total, according to the IPCC, 3,325,120 voters took part in the elections. At the same time, the commission did not receive any complaints questioning the election results.

“With good reason we can state that thanks to all the participants and organizers of these elections, the tasks that we spoke about within these walls before the start of the elections, the triad of mayoral elections – legitimacy, openness and reliability – have been fully realized,” Kirillova added.

According to the results of the elections held on September 8-10 in the capital, the current mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin received 2 million 499 thousand 114 votes, which is 76.39% of the votes.

Second place was taken by Moscow City Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Leonid Zyuganov – he had 8.11% of the votes.

Third – Vice Speaker of the State Duma from the LDPR Boris Chernyshov, who received 5.61% of the votes.

Vice-Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov received 5.34% of the votes, the first deputy leader of the “A Just Russia – For Truth” faction in the State Duma, Dmitry Gusev, received 3.93% of the votes (3rd and 4th places, respectively).

Polling stations in Moscow were open daily from 8:00 to 20:00, in addition, voting took place online from 8:00 on September 8 to 20:00 on September 10.
